Paying homage to the golden age of Pinky Violence, Ultraviole(t)nce revisits past and contemporary resistances against patriarchy and sex-ploitation. Repetition and regurgitation, utilised as tools of enforcement and engagement, collapses such scenes of violence, delirium, and bestial desire into a condensed moving image. Sisterhood, somewhat perverse but empowering, solidifies the revolt against essentialist power. The female heroine comes to the fore—she rises from the ashes of lunacy, basking in the afterglow of her emancipation.

Curated and produced by XING in collaboration with Enterprise Projects.
